ENTER BOOTCAMP

The main goal of our project is to provide young people equal access to the IT world. Our team consists of three young men and seven young women, and we hope to set an example and encourage girls to enter one of the most male-dominated fields. In 2020, women only made up 27% of the ICT-specialists in Estonia (OSKA 2020). In teaching, we rely heavily on independent learning, and thus provide participants with a basis for further independent development. We also hope to inspire young individuals to make their ambitious ideas come to life.

PROGRAMME

Most of the week involves intensive independent programming with a number of workshops and guest speakers. In addition to teaching, social activities will take place as well. During the week, the participants will get to enjoy the beautiful nature of Orissaare and make many new friends all over Estonia.

The camp will take place at Orissaare Gymnasium and participants will be housed at the on-site hostel. After the educational activities, participants will have the opportunity to spend their free time at the nearby beach volleyball court, outdoor gym, or on the beautiful trails. Swimming in the Väike Strait is also a possibility!

We welcome all 16- to 19-year-olds, no prior programming experience is necessary.

We can offer a place for 50 enthusiastic students. In the decision-making process, we will be taking into account the creative thinking and problem-solving skills of the candidate.

Participation is free, i.e. food, accommodation and everything else related to the event is free for all selected participants.
